Welcome to the Creative Blessings Blog, I’m delighted you’re here.  Thank you so much for stopping by, please stay and wander a while.  Feel free to check out the different categories to get ideas and see what has already been inspired.

My name is Christy and I have a passion for designing new and unique inspirations.  You will not find any two like items; there is something different about everything I make.  I will not mass produce things.  I thoroughly enjoy using my God given talent to provide you with a one of a kind treasure.

As always, if you have any questions or have a specific need, please contact me!  I would love to go shopping with you or for you.  I’m looking forward to our adventure.

Hi, Joe Bell forwarded your website to me. I actually have a question for you. I have a hand-stitched friendship quilt, made by my great grandmother. Each square was hand embroidered by her friends, neighbors, and a few relatives, and they stitched their names and the year on the squares (think it was made in the 30’s or 40’s). They lived in Bremond, near Hearne.
Not being a “quilt” person, I don’t know what to do with this quilt. Of course it has sentimental value, but has been in my linen closet for years. Being entirely hand-made I’d be afraid to use it, certainly wouldn’t throw it in the washer!
Do you have any ideas about what I might do with this quilt? I sure would appreciate any suggestions you might have. Thanks!

If it needs to be washed I would hand wash it or machine wash it cold and hang dry it. You could probably machine gentle cycle cold wash it but it depends how rough your washer is and then hang dry it – I would definately not dry it in the dryer either way. I personally would display it, either hang it in a hall where the sun won’t fade it, drape it over a stair well, fold it and place it on a chest to show or place it in a basket by your couch, somewhere out of the sun but in a place that it can be seen for people to admire your great grandmother’s work. I have one of my great grandmothers quilts hanging in my office – it is my inspiration. Hope this helps – if I haven’t answered your question completely then please get back to me. Thank you for contacting me.
